Technical personnel work tracking system

NUS Solutions implemented a fully cloud-based work tracking system for the technical personnel of the METKA plant in Volos. The objective was to create a reliable and user-friendly solution for recording technicians’ working hours across different projects and production phases, while enabling centralized data management and utilization.

Solution overview

The new solution is based on workstation tablets placed at selected locations within the factory. Upon completing their work, technicians go to the nearest station, authenticate using an RFID card, and log their working time into the system. The entry includes both regular working hours and overtime, as well as selection of the project and the specific phase in which they participated. The process is simple and fast, significantly reducing errors and administrative overhead.

All data is collected in a centralized cloud database and integrated with the company’s SAP system for further processing, cost allocation, and reporting. In parallel, a management application was implemented, providing managers with a complete overview of technical personnel utilization, aggregated insights, and statistical reports by project, phase, and time.

The result is a fully cloud-based work tracking system that improves data accuracy, simplifies the process for technical staff, and provides management with reliable information for better project planning and control.

Technology used

The solution was developed entirely on Microsoft Power Platform. The technicians’ application was implemented as a Canvas App designed for tablet use, while the managers’ administrative application was built using Power Apps.

All data is hosted in Microsoft Dataverse, providing a fully cloud-based environment with high availability, security, and scalability for future expansion.
